How do you encourage residents to rethink everyday waste and recycling habits?
Thurrock Council asked us to develop a fresh and engaging creative campaign to help residents recycle more effectively and reduce the amount of recyclable material ending up in general waste. Working closely with the council’s waste and communications teams, we developed a flexible campaign identity and visual approach that makes recycling guidance clearer, more approachable and easier to recognise.
The campaign was structured in phases across the calendar year, allowing messaging to focus on different recycling behaviours, seasonal priorities and specific items causing the greatest confusion at the most relevant times. Each phase sits within a consistent overarching campaign identity, creating recognition while keeping the communications fresh and targeted. Using simple messaging, bold graphics and a consistent visual language, the campaign was designed to work across posters, social media, outdoor advertising, vehicle graphics and digital communications.
