How do you revive a respected flagship industry publication that has lost its sparkle?
The Building Societies Association is one of the main trade associations representing building societies and other mutual service providers in the UK. We were selected to revamp the look and feel of Society Matters the members’ quarterly magazine. The old format had been around for a while and with large blocks of text was visually monotonous and combined with poor quality ‘clip art’ style images the publication resembled an internal newsletter rather than the flagship publication for the industry.
Our first priority was to ensure that the text was arranged in a way that made it easy for the reader to navigate their way around the publication and pick out sections of interest rather than the text floating around on the page as before. We have worked hard to give the pages structure and consistency and a more considered use of higher quality imagery and use of infographics has taken the publication to a different level.
